We had a great opportunity to take the girls
fishing for the first time.
Da has an incredible place,
a slice of paradise,
that's tucked away
in the backwoods of Georgia.
Complete with a beautiful fish pond,
cute little pond house,
and enough toys to keep the little kids
and {the big ones} too,
happy and occupied for hours!
It was a fun adventure,
especially for a certain little girl who's
scared of worms and who's
scared of fish.
The girls were so ready to begin fishing.
Da and Grandma bought Crista her very own
Barbie fishing pole.
Every girl needs a Barbie fishing pole!
Addie was just excited to be outside.
Have I mentioned she's my outdoors girl?
She's the happiest when she's outside!
We cheated a bit and lured the catfish to the dock
with some catfish food.
Crista was mesmerized by the site of so many fish!
It didn't take long before they were biting.
Grandma and Crista caught the first fish of the day!
And it was a big one...
no need to stretch the truth on this one!
Daddy also got lucky.
He caught a few small ones...
but he also caught the biggest fish of the day!
That's MY husband!!
Everyone got in on the action,
but some were closer to the action
than they wanted to be :-)
Mama, you kiss those lips?!
Just sayin'.
Addie enjoyed watching all the going ons
while Da kept our lines bated for us.
That's what Da's are for!
But the best part was getting to spend some uninterrupted time
with the family.
It was
quiet,
peaceful,
and just what our little family needed!
Addie became a little bored with watching all of us fish.
She wanted to have some fun of her own!
She LOVED driving around in the mule!
The whole day wasn't spent fishing though.
Crista got to swim too.
We forgot to bring her bathing suit,
but when you're 4 and have no modesty,
not having a bathing suit
isn't an issue at all!
isn't an issue at all!
Crista had a great first experience fishing,
and even caught her very own fish on her
Barbie fishing pole.
See,
everyone should have a Barbie fishing pole!
But we all agree
the very best part of fishing,
is the eating!

I like how in the second to the last photo Crista is looking at the fish and not at the camera. Just making sure its at a safe distance. lol
Love this post..such special times:)
So fun!! Your mom and dad and seriously so cute. I just want to bite them...That sounds a little creepy. I'll just say I want to hug them next time :)
LOVE the pictures, especially that one of Crista and her daddy from above. AWESOME.
What a fun day! Nothing better than fresh catfish! yummy!
I'm with Hannah - your parents are SO cute! Seeing Addie out doors with that toothless grin is fantastic! Do you need a trip to MN for some Muskie???
wow that place just looks beautiful. No barbie here, but Joe made a Maya a smaller real fishing pool which she has put Hello Kitty stickers on. Gorgeous picture of Crista and her dad sitting on the dock. Love your dad, Maya would have been kissing that fish with him. The whole post just looks so HAPPY I love it!
wish I could find those same shoes crista has on in a bigger size for next year, have been lucky so far but those are the greatest outdoor shoes, I'm hoping my luck doens't run out for next summer.
