The Sunday before we left for Disney
our Children's pastor
did the children's sermon on giving.
She gave each child a Hershey's Kiss
and then told the children
that they could either give it away to someone
or
they could keep it for themselves.
The children who gave their kisses away
then received 2 more kisses.
She explained how God blesses us
when we give what we have.
I thought it was such a great little lesson!
Fast forward a few hours and I was talking with the girls
about their Disney spending money.
You see,
back in May when we surprised the girls with our Disney World trip,
we told the girls that we're getting them into the park,
but all spending money was on them.
So they've been working
very hard for 6 months
trying to raise $100 each.
On that Sunday,
I realized that we haven't tithed any of that money yet.
So each girl gave their 10%, which was $10
{they actually earned $100 by working!)
to a boys and girls home in Mexico
so the children could have Christmas gifts.
They were just a little sad at first to part with the money,
since they've worked so hard for it.
But they did give it with happy hearts,
which is what God requires of us.
I was so proud of my girls!
The next evening,
there were some letters in the mailbox for us.
Someone who knew we were heading to Disney
the next day
decided, out of the blue,
to send a little surprise to the girls
{and to Jake and me as well!}.

{and to Jake and me as well!}.
And none of us could believe it when
they each opened their letter
and out fell $20!
Exactly double
what they had given as tithe!
This anonomyous
(and generous)
person
had NO IDEA that the girls
had tithed $10
the day before
and his gift was being used by God
to bless my girls!

Just like the Hershey Kiss illustration,
God blessed them for blessing others!
How amazing is that?!?!
