Dreams Came True!

Last school year,

when Crista was in 1st grade,

her teacher asked her to learn

1,000 sight words.

These were not simple sight words like

cat

or dog.

There were words like

government,

particular

and

substances.

Pretty difficult for a 1st grader.

So we challenged Crista.

Told her there would be a BIG surprise for her

if she made it through all 1,000 words

before the end of school.

This challenge was given to her early on

because at the rate she was going,

she wasn't on track to make it :)

But Crista proved us wrong and by February

she mastered all 1,000 sight words!!

Since she accomplished what we asked of her,

we held up our end of the bargain

and after 6 months of waiting,

and after Mamaw & Papaw came down to join us,

  the day FINALLY arrived.

We were going to......

 

 

Excitement couldn't be contained!!



 

Our first stop was the hotel.

We stayed at the Art of Animation

in The Little Mermaid village.

The girls LOVED staying here

and everything was so vibrant and colorful

and larger than life!!

 

 

My little treasures!

Greater than any gold, pearls or jewels.

 

The next morning we got up bright and early

to catch the bus to the Magic Kingdom.

We only had one day at the MK and

we were determined to squeeze in as much as possible.

 

 

We made it!!

It was completely overwhelming to actually be here,

in front of Cinderella's castle

with my little family.

I have such vivid memories of being there as a little girl

with my own family.

Addie Grace was having an "I'm 3" moment

and refused to take the picture.

I still cherish it even though its not perfect.

This is our family right now,

frozen,

in this moment!

We hit the rides quickly

and enjoyed every one of them

(after getting used to them.  Disney rides are very unique!)



 

After enjoying the rides with absolutely NO lines,

it was time for the girls' appointments

at the

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!

The girls were SUPER excited to

dress up like a princess

and be treated as royalty!

 

 

At the end of their princess makeover,

the fairy godmother holds up her magic wand to

signal the

Royal Photographer

so he can capture the first look.

Addie Grace thought that looked fun

so she joined in :-)

 One of the best things about the BBB

were these huge GENUNINE smiles

that were plastered on my girls' faces.

THAT was priceless!

...and her little sister and side kick,

Addie Grace!

 

 And for the rest of the day,

the people of Disney

referred to the girls as

"Princess".

It was so neat!

 

 After the BBB,

we walked across the castle

to have lunch with Cinderella!

It was amazing.

Cinderella herself was there to greet us as we walked in the doors.

 

The food was delish

and the girls thought having 3 ice cream cones for dessert

was the greatest idea ever!

 

Well,

at least Addie Grace liked the sprinkles ;-)

But when you're the Princess,

you can have anything you want.

 

 

 

The girls met all the princesses during their lunch

and each princess took as much time as the girls wanted,

and they talked, signed autographs

and posed for pictures.

Here were just a few of their favorites!

 

 

We were seeing triple!

 

 

Ariel was by far MY favorite.

Her personality was very playful and

she got right down on the girls' level.

Apparently Addie was winking at her

so Ariel started winking back.

They got into a winking war

and had everyone laughing!

 

 

Jasmin is Crista's favorite princess.

Crista quietly stood next to her and tapped her on the shoulder

and in an almost whisper said,

"You're my favorite princess."

Jasmin gave Crista the sweetest smile and

then gave her a hug.

It was precious!

 

Jasmin is Daddy's favorite too :-)



 

After our Royal lunch,

and a quick wardrobe change,

we hit the rides again!

Lots of fun,

no naps,

and plenty of grins and giggles!

Right before the fireworks were were able to sneak in

and meet Rapunzel.

The line was non-existent so we

hurried through!

 

 

We also met Tiana and Naveen.

They were SO true to character,

it was like they stepped straight out of the movie.

 

 

The Castle at night,

all decked out for Christmas.

It was so beautiful!

 

We weren't planning on watching the fireworks,

but we got caught on the wrong side of the ropes

so we got to enjoy them anyway!

This was the girls' first firework show

so I didn't know what to expect with them.

This is how Crista watched the show.

 

 

And Addie Grace.

Bless her heart,

she fell asleep just like this

DURING

the fireworks!

She was out for the night and poor Daddy

had to hold her until we got back to the hotel.

 

 

The day at Disney was nothing short of magical!

We had a wonderful trip

and we're so thankful that Mamaw & Papaw got to enjoy it with us!
