Fair Parade '11

One of the biggest events every year

in outrlittle town

is the Fair Parade.

Its always in October,

always on a Monday,

always kicks off the County Fair.

But most importantly,

its always a blast!
This year our whole family participated in the parade

and rode on our church's float.

Our theme was

"We Are Fishers Of Men"

and had a fishing boat on a trailer and had the whole thing decorated in theme.

Although we didn't place in the float contest,

our little piece of work was by far superior to the rest :-)

My beautiful girl,

mesmerized by the sights and sounds of the parade.

Addie Grace though she was a big girl,

riding on the float with the older kids.

Crista's new phase that she's in...

she'll smile for pictures but refuses to look at the camera.

I told her several times to look right at the camera

and her response each time was,

"I am!!"

Pretty sure this next picture proves she's not :-)

But this is Crista's  friend, Gracie.

They are so much alike!

Same size, only days apart in age,

both have little sisters,

both have the same amount of sweetness

mixed with the right amount of spunk.

I just love these two!

(see...not looking!)

And this is Gracie's little sister, Lilee.

Lilee and Addie Grace are great friends too!

They are super sweet playing together in the nursery at church

and I just adore this picture.

I caught them holding hands while

both were strapped into their strollers.

I'm sure they were swapping stories of how mean their Mama's are :-)

But as you can see,

this mean Mama didn't make her stay in the stroller for long.

Addie was determined to ride ON the float...with the big kids.

She sat with a friend and waved at the crowds the whole time.

For 45 minutes!

She had that princess wave down pat!

Our sweet Daddy,

handing out candy to the locals

(we're not allowed to throw candy during the parade so each piece had to be handed out)

Daddy would get caught in a long line of kids

and get slowed down and then have to run to make it back up to the float.

I don't think he did that much running since his high school track days!

The Fair Parade was really fun.

Not because we got to ride the float

or because we were able to represent our church,

but because we were able to do this as a family!

And that is always fun :-)
