Saturday we decided to check out
the Savannah Sidewalk Arts Festival.
We had never been
and since Jake was playing golf
for a missions fundraiser,
we invited our friends Katie & Annabelle,
and headed out.
It's put on by SCAD
(Savannah College of Art and Design)
and I can honestly say,
it was top notch!
Katie snapped this pic of us!
Whoo hooo, I'm actually IN a picture!!
There was lots to do and see.
The girls eyed the hammocks
right off the bat
and enjoyed playing on them.
It was hard to lure them away...
the morning weather was just perfect for lounging
under the big oak trees!
Annabelle wanted to do a funny face.
Too precious not to share ;-)
Among the sidewalks brightly colored
with designs
and enough bounce houses and slides
to appease even the pickiest kid,
was a children's tent
with loads of activities.
The kids went around the world,
participating in games and crafts to
earn stamps on their passports.
The kids loved
the busyness
of the activity
while I appreciated all the special
photo ops!
Learning the {Japanese} version of
Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Crista proving she can hang with the best of them.
Even in a foreign language ;-)
The sidewalk art
was nothing less
than impressive.
We walked all around Forsyth
watching the artists at work
and coming back to see the completed piece.
For some reason,
our sidewalk art at home NEVER looks like theirs!
We had a wonderful picnic lunch on the green
and ended the day with
some yummy ice cream from Leopold's.
We had the best day
and so thankful we got to spend it with
great friends.
We will most definitely be
making this
an yearly trip.
Next time,
we'll bring the dads!
