Summer Visit

As much as the kids were looking forward to VBS week,
I'm not sure if it was actually Bible School they
were most excited about
or the fact that
Papaw and Mamaw were coming in on that Thursday!
The kids always
count down the days until the next visit
since our times together
are so few and far between.
We always make the most of the time we
do have, though,
and fill our days with fun and laughter and
togetherness.
Papaw and Mamaw always
bring new excitement and adventures
with them,
excitement and adventures that this Mama
says "No" to
far too often...

like
Silly String!
Who knew a little bottle of stringy foam
would bring so many laughs :-)

 ...and water balloons.
Papaw found these amazing water balloons.
I'll never buy regular water balloons again.
They come pre-packaged and already set up.
All you have to do is screw it onto your faucet
and turn it on.

When they're filled up, they pop off the
plastic fingers,
already tied and
ready to throw.
Best.Invention.Ever!

Oh, if these pictures could talk,
you'd hear the kids squealing with delight!

Of course, there was lots of time for
long-overdue snuggles.

Crista and Addie Grace
couldn't wait to take Mamaw to see the baby goats.
The triplets had grown since we were there last
but still just as sweet!

Heading to the barn.

Addie Grace found her bucket
and was quite content there.

Although she did let Mrs. Phyllis hold her
so she could feed Max.
Addie always keeps her feet up
so the goats wouldn't
"get her".

Crista was in her element.
She would make an awesome Farm Girl.
She's still hoping she'll get to goat-sit for the triplets soon.

I think Mamaw liked the goats too.
At least Penny seemed to like Mamaw!

Unfortunately, this visit
did not go without incident.
Besides having to take Crista to the Dr
with a sinus infection,
Addie Grace sprained her ankle.
She decided she needed a cast
and fashioned one out of toilet paper and tape.

She made sure everyone
signed her cast too.
'Cause that's just what you do
when you have a cast.

A little fever and a sprained ankle
were minor hiccups in our visit.
It just goes to show,
that with our family,
it doesn't matter what we do,
as long as we do it together
