Spring Break!

This year Crista was a little disappointed going into our Spring Break.

Last year,

we were able to do a quick get-a-way

to Jacksonville

and enjoy some time away.

But this year Spring Break was the same week as

Holy Week.

And when your Dad is the youth pastor at the church,

Holy Week is one of the busiest weeks

of the year.

So no road trip this year.

And Crista was so sad.

Until....

we found out Reese and Hudson were coming

for a visit!!

Crista couldn't wait for the weekend to get here

to start their fun.

And even though we moved almost 3 years ago

and we've only been able to have short visits with them from time to time,

these kids picked up right where they left off,

as if no time had passed at all...

as if each one hadn't grown 5 inches taller

or learned to read {chapter books}

or is now a school girl instead of a pre-schooler. 

I suspect these two will always be

sisters at heart.

 

They wasted no time with their fun.

Mud and all!

 

The weather was delightful,

just wonderful for playing all day outside,

not wasting even a moment indoors.

A perfect day for a picnic!

 

There was lots of running and giggling.

And then they decided to do a little water play.

The spigot was just the gateway for bigger and better things...

 

These crazy Hoosiers thought the upper 70's was summer.

Reese and Hudson enjoyed playing in the sprinklers here

while leaving Indiana the day before

 with 5 inches of snow on the ground.

What a contrast!

 

My crazy kids didn't skip a beat.

They joined in too.

Shivering,

but smiling!

Just having some good, clean fun!

And please note

Miss Priss.

She wasn't about it get all muddy.

Apparently Princesses don't like to get their hands dirty :-)

 

The others didn't have a problem with dirt.

Especially the cute Guatemalan!

 

All in all,

Crista had the most wonderful Spring Break

And we're all so thankful we got to spend time with our friends from Indiana!!

Maybe we should make this an annual event?!?!
