The time finally arrived for the girls' BIG surprise!
Crista, fresh from a nice long nap and
dosed up on Tylenol...
and Addie Grace in her dress and princess tiara
{that she insisted on wearing},
couldn't guess where their mystery trip
was taking them.
My mom had gotten us tickets to go see
Disney On Ice!
Disney On Ice!
They had no idea what that was,
but we knew they were in for a treat!
My mom kept saying
the seats are probably really bad.
But we honestly didn't care
if we were at the tippy top of the civic center!!
We were just so thankful to even be in the arena.
The funny thing was,
once we got there
the usher showed us our seats.
Um, 4th row, center stage.
We told Crista that if a princess tripped,
she'd probably land in her lap.
We laughed and laughed at Mom's "mistake"!
The girls were mesmerized from the beginning.
The girls watched the show
but I watched them.
I loved seeing their reaction to
seeing Mickey, Minnie and Ariel.
Addie kept a close eye on Mickey
and waved every time he looked her way.
Once he waved back,
or at least in her general direction,
and oh, you should've seen Addie.
She squealed with delight and said,
"He waved at ME!"
"He waved at ME!"
Priceless!
By far,
both girls favorite was The Little Mermaid.
Crista sang along to each song
and just soaked everything in.
She was the perfect age for this!
Addie Grace did so well too
although the second half was a little difficult for her.
I did take her out to the side for the last 15 minutes or so of
Toy Story.
The neat part was, this is where all the characters
entered the ice from
and we got to see Andy up close and personal.
He even spoke to Addie.
All in all we had a wonderful surprise trip
and lots of incredible memories were made!
It was the perfect kick-off to the holidays!
