Fall Break

 

Because we were ALL

needing a break,

we decided to use our week off from CC

for a little mini-vacation.

We headed up to North Georgia

for a couple of nights

to regroup and to enjoy our time together as a family.

 

We really didn't have a schedule or an agenda

for this trip,

we just decided to wing it!

One thing I wanted to do, though,

was to take the girls to Babyland General Hospital...

you know, where the Cabbage Patch Kids are born!

I went as a child and loved it

and just knew my girls would too!

The girls were able to choose their own

baby

to adopt.

It was fun walking around

seeing all the different babies.

But it was quite difficult to just choose one.

The staff encouraged the girls to play with the babies

to make sure that one was THE one.

 

I'm  happy to announce the adoption of

Elise Grace...

and Rose Grace!



Both are perfect additions to our family

and have been loved very well!

We were hoping to enjoy some fresh mountain air

and a few walking trails

while in the mountains

but the weather didn't exactly cooperate.

 

We just rolled with it

and found some indoor activities

to fill our time.

We found Charlemagne's Kingdom in Helen

which is a model railroad museum.

They had a model of modern day Germany from

the North Sea to the Alps.

It was really neat,

especially since we learned all about

Europe last year in Geography!

 

 

Usually, when we travel,

we do it as frugally as possible.

On this trip,

we decided to splurge just a bit

and got a jacuzzi tub in our suite.

Best money spent!

Since the weather didn't cooperate,

we ended up spending some much needed

down time

at the hotel.

The girls played until the bath water turned cold

and Jake and I vegged watching cable tv

(which we don't have).

It was a win-win!

We needed this little getaway

and enjoyed our time

together so much!
